Just a few days until that festive day, that is Christmas. It is the day where we are so full of joy and become closer as a family, sharing gifts and enjoying the day like no other. For me there is nothing more exciting than Christmas day, however as I have aged I have started to understand that receiving isn’t as important anymore, it’s now for me a time of giving and making my parents and little sister happy. It gives you a warm feeling inside that you know that you are involved in the giving process rather than receiving, it’s more exciting so see their faces rather than me receiving a gift.
The day is different for others but there are certain things we do that must happen on this day. We have presents, Christmas music played in the background, a delicious turkey dinner and mince pies to eat throughout the day. The day brings the family closer and this alone makes the day more enjoyable. As a yearly event the excitement building up to this day is great as you can’t wait to see what you have received and what you have given.
This is only a short report but I would like to add a comical element to end. There was a song I heard about 7/8 years ago. A song which my ears should haven’t heard in my young age but it was funny – maybe this was because I didn’t understand the context and was just laughing at the swear words, a bit childish. However the song is so funny and love to listen to it during the festive period. It may be rude but how the song was written is fantastic. The song was written by Kevin ‘Bloody’ Wilson and is called “Hey Santa Clause…” I won’t put the rest of the title as there is a very offensive word in it. The song is hilarious and is based around not receiving the gift that you want and going crazy – hasn’t this happened to all of us at some point in our life.
